About Tucson Central Pediatrics

We have full-time licensed pediatricians working at Tucson Central Pediatrics. They are all members of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and are on staff at UMC, TMC, and St. Joseph’s Hospital.

GRETCHEN HULL, M.D.

Medical Doctor

Dr. Hull was born in California but grew up in Tucson. She graduated from Brown University in 1993 and attended medical school at the University of Arizona, graduating in 1999. She completed her pediatric residency at Children's Hospital Los Angeles in 2002 and has worked here at Tucson Central Pediatrics since.

She is currently on the boards of the Arizona Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and of Parent Aid, an organization dedicated to preventing child abuse. Dr. Hull is the oral health advocate for the Arizona Chapter of the AAP.

She volunteers throughout the year with the Flying Samaritans in Baja California Sur and has been on several international medical trips to countries such as Guatemala and India. She speaks Spanish. Her hobbies include photography, travel and studying foreign languages.

ROBERT HOM, M.D.

Medical Doctor

Dr. Hom was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated from college at the University of Maryland in 1988 with a degree in microbiology. He also attended medical school at the University of Maryland, graduating in 1992. He then completed his pediatric residency at UCLA Medical Center, where he met his wife Sarah.

After finishing his training in 1995 he moved to Tucson where he worked for Thomas-Davis Medical Centers for three years before opening Tucson Central Pediatrics in 1998. Dr. Hom also serves as the chief administrator of the clinic.

He is very blessed with four wonderful children, 2 girls, Rachel and Emily, and twin boys, Andrew and Daniel.

In his free time, he enjoys tennis, reading, working around the house and spending time with his family. Balance/Vestibular, Post-operative Rehab.

SIVAPRIYA RAMAKRISHNAN, M.D.

Medical Doctor

Dr. Ramakrishnan went to medical school in Chennai, South India. Her initial pediatric training was in the United Kingdom where she was a member of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health. She moved to the USA in 2004 and completed her residency at the Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York.

Dr. “Rama” as she is known to us, served as chief resident and was awarded the best resident for courtesy, respect, and professionalism. In her free time, she loves to read, spend time with her family, and food blog. Dr. Rama is a board certified pediatrician and has 15 years experience. She works with all types of health issues concerning children, and enjoys the newborn care and working with adolescents. She worked in Virginia for three years in both a private setting and in student health at UVA.

She moved to Tucson in the summer of 2012 with her husband and two children.

Mary Elizabeth Gomez, M.D.

Medical Doctor

Dr. Gomez is a Texas native who moved to Tucson in 2023. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at Rice University. She earned her Medical Degree and completed Pediatric residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Her previous areas of research include pediatric obesity and post-burn outcomes.

Dr. Gomez is happily married and a mother of 3. As a mom, she understands parenting first-hand and knows that each child is special and unique. She enjoys
getting to know patients and their families and then forming a team in support of the patient’s health and well-being. Dr. Gomez practices evidence-based medicine, while firmly respecting the “mom gut” (when a mother just feels like something is not right).

In addition to being a genuine advocate for her patients’ growth and development, Dr. Gomez has a special interest in preventative medicine, mental health, breastfeeding, and early childhood literacy. She is fluent in Spanish.

In her free time, Dr. Gomez likes spending time with her husband, Stephen, and their 3 daughters, reading, hiking, and exploring Tucson. Most
weekends, you can find her cheering on the Arizona Wildcats, Dallas Cowboys, or one of her daughters’ sports teams.
